| Op 29 juni 2001 organiseerde de
Belgische luchtmacht 'A day at the flight academy', bedoeld om de jongeren
tussen 14 en 24 jaar te laten kennis maken met de luchtmacht. We schreven
ons zo snel mogelijk in omdat de plaatsen beperkt waren, na een week waren
alle 2000 plaatsen volzet. Wanneer we daar aankwamen te Beauvechain
kregen we elk een mooie T-shirt. 'S morgens moesten we enkele leuke
proeven afleggen, ondermeer quad rijden, cross-country,... 'S middags
begonnen dan de demo's van de verschillende toestellen (F-16, seaking, agusta,
alpha-jet, ...) en ook enkele formatievluchten met alpha jet's, fouga's en
marchetti's. Er was ook een grote static met vooral de vliegtuigen die
gestationeerd zijn te Beauvechain, maar ook 4 F-16's, agusta, alouette II, ...
'S namiddags was er dan de uitreiking van de
luchtdopen, maar jammer genoeg had onze groep net te weinig punten. De
winnaars konden met de C-130 of de hawker siddeley 748 mee en er waren ook 2
vluchten te winnen met de marchetti!!
Het was een leuke dag om eens
kennis te maken met de BAF.

On 29 June 2001 the Belgian Air Force organized 'A day at the flight
academy', meant for people between 14 and 24 years old to meet the
airforce. We signed up as soon as possible to be sure of a place, because a week later all 2000
places where already taken. When we arrived at Beauvechain we first
got a T-shirt. In the morning we had to do some nice games: riding a
quad, cross-country,... In the afternoon there were some demo's of
several planes of the Belgian Air Force like the F-16, Alpha jet, Fouga
Magister, Agusta and Seaking. There were also some formationflights
with Alpha jet's, Fouga Magisters and Marchetti's. There was also a
big static line-up with especially the based trainingplanes, but also 4 F-16's, Agusta and Alouette II.
Then in the afternoon there was the distribution of the flights.
Unfortunately our group hadn't got enough points. The winners could fly with the C-130 our the HS748 and there
were also 2 flights with a marchetti!!!
It was a nice day to meet the Belgian Air Force.
